My goal with discovered is to show that although a large number of  people chase fame, it is far better to connect with another human being. When I was younger, I lived in Los Angeles in a studio apartment in West Hollywood. I met numerous celebrities and hung out at some of the chicest clubs. I traveled extensively promoting my books and stayed at some of the swankiest hotels. As glamorous as my life may have seemed to a lot of people, and I have had some great and memorable moments, I realized that if I continued at the pace I was going, I would end up being an old, well-dressed, well-paid, well-connected, lonely individual, living in an apartment in New York, being the old lady in the club, wondering what life would have been like if I had chosen to settle down and give myself a chance to find love. I understand that today's society pushes getting your "grind on" and succeeding by any means necessary; however, in the words of Billy Dee Williams in Mahogany, "Success is nothing without someone you love to share it with!"
