Written, Produced and Directed by Tajuana TJ Butler, Discovered is the story of two singers hoping to get discovered while living in Hollywood.

My goal with discovered is to show that although a large number of  people chase fame, it is far better to connect with another human being. When I was younger, I lived in Los Angeles in a studio apartment in West Hollywood. I met numerous celebrities and hung out at some of the chicest clubs. I traveled extensively promoting my books and stayed at some of the swankiest hotels. As glamorous as my life may have seemed to a lot of people, and I have had some great and memorable moments, I realized that if I continued at the pace I was going, I would end up being an old, well-dressed, well-paid, well-connected, lonely individual, living in an apartment in New York, being the old lady in the club, wondering what life would have been like if I had chosen to settle down and give myself a chance to find love. I understand that today's society pushes getting your "grind on" and succeeding by any means necessary; however, in the words of Billy Dee Williams in Mahogany, "Success is nothing without someone you love to share it with!"

DISCLAIMER: Okay, so I was new at story telling when I made this short and my meaning may have come off a bit skewed, SPOILER ALERT: They wake up together. It comes off as a one-night stand. However, the intent is everything that I wrote above. SO don't go around discovering one-night stands. Discover the one!

According to Genesis 2:18, The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

About TJ >

I founded Lavelle Publishing in 1997 with the release of my first poetry book, The Desires of A Woman: Poems Celebrating Womanhood. I was 26 years old. I published my second book Sorority Sisters in 1998. Sorority Sisters was picked up by Villard Books, a division of Random House and rereleased in 2000. Over 80,000 copies have been sold. So much has happened in my life since the release of my first books. I am thankful for the twist and turns that has been my journey. My life lessons have made me wiser, more grounded and more secure in who I am. One thing that I have realized is that not only do I love to write, but I like to express my writing through different genres. As you explore my site, you will see what I mean.
